Blossom Tree Education is an ‘alternative’ to traditional tutoring. Instead of solely focusing on increasing ‘grades’, we use a holistic approach bespoke to each student, their preferences, their concerns, their goals and skills.
Each student is important to us. We only have one expectation and that is that they ‘try’.
- If a topic is creating worry for them, we strip it back to the basics, check for misunderstandings and learning gaps and ‘re-teach’ in a manner best suited for that individual.
- We fully support and encourage each student, celebrating EVERY success, whilst also understanding that sometimes a session might be stressful, so we can re-visit the topic at another time. Often this helps the student understand that sometimes a different approach on a different day may work best for them. The only pressure they will encounter is the pressure they exert upon themselves.
- Sessions are relaxed, we chat, play games, find out about each other and build a strong and trusting relationship. Encouraging students to let us know if they feel overwhelmed, as it is important to us and as a team to listen to their worries.

When can we start?
This is dependent upon the availability of the tutor. It may be that a session slot will become available at a particular point in time which suits both the tutor and student.
How much does it cost per session?
Pricing is determined by a variety of factors including; venue, experience of tutor, age/ability of student, level of study etc. This will be discussed during the initial telephone appointment.
Do you have availability?
Please be aware that session slots are sometimes limited and they are allocated on a first come, first served basis. Whilst we try to accommodate all requests, there may be times where we simply can’t. Half and term holidays are when most people reach out to find out more about tutoring. If your child is struggling with homework etc, the earlier you make contact the more chance we have of helping before their self confidence dips. September slots are sometimes already booked in July for example so it really is best to set sessions up sooner rather than after a school holiday or parents evening or school report has been received.
How does it work?
Tutoring works in lots of different ways and just like no two students are alike, no one approach is used. We will listen to both parent and student during the initial contact and the first few sessions (and beyond) to ensure that we tailor our approach to what we feel best suits the student. This also sometimes means we need to consider upcoming assessments or examinations so we will keep ‘checking in’ throughout this stressful period.
1:1 sessions are overall preferred by most parents and students, however small group tutoring can be useful to give students confidence chat with others who may feel a particular topic is ‘tricky’ for them. We are always on hand to advise and guide, whether you choose a 1:1 option or a small group session. Group sessions are usually delivered with students of a similar age, ability and year group. Working alongside peers is often a very calming and productive environment to learn.
We work in your home as well as in community locations.
